Original Eviction

Pride goes before the fall as Satan found out. The Arch Angel Michael was charged with removing Satan from Heaven when the dark one rebelled against God and all that was good. Many angels followed Satan's ambition only to find pain and despair. Michael remained faithful and so he and his angels defeated Satan's army of the fallen and cast them all to earth. While Heaven rejoiced in the victory, the Earth wept in sadness. For Satan's fall began man's eternal struggle against temptation.

I have improved on my figure painting since "Boulder Dash" was completed 2 years earlier. This was a piece I wanted to do out of my great interest in theology and Christianity. I wanted to reach a new level of drama in my work and I wanted to represent the struggles that we as people go through each day. Many of us resist the urge to do what is wrong. Some of us give in and we find disaster waiting for us.

This will be my submission to the 2009 California State Fair.
